Introduction to Virtual Kicking’s Beginner Package

This package is designed to take a beginner or anyone who has never kicked a football to consistently making field goals in just 6 weeks.  Most of the content in this package caters to soccer players transitioning to football—taking the skills they have developed on the soccer pitch and converting them to success on the football field. Follow these steps below and you will see quick results.

Step #1 – Get the proper equipment

What you need: At least 2 footballs to train with – purchase at your local sporting goods store: Ages 8-13 (Youth Size),  Ages 14+ (Full Size)

COMPARING FOOTBALLS ACROSS LEAGUES

Look at the footballs used in high school, college, junior and youth games.

Both the NCAA and the NFL footballs have the same specifications. High school leagues use the same size balls. Wilson is the official brand for the NFL an NCAA.

Junior leagues use a smaller, lighter ball. Youth footballs are the smallest. Junior and youth footballs don’t have a specific brand, though Nike and Spalding are popular choices.

If you are in high school or older, it may be best to start kicking off the ground.

Ages 14-16 (1 inch tee)

Ages 17-up (1/2 inch tee or off the ground)
